2 February 2013: I (Mark) created the facility to add various specifically Zambian fields to the database (e.g. the Zambian botanical province to the species_record table) and created a new page to display the citations. See this example for Bauhinia tomentosa.
25 March 2012: Using a spreadsheet prepared by Annette Willemen, all the species which occur in Zambia and which we already have in the database, have now been coded as occurring in Zambia. As a result we now have 3,452 taxa recorded as occurring in Zambia. Of these, 1,542 species have images and the total number of images is (potentially) 6,171.
15 February 2012: Permanent domain name zambiaflora.com registered and the site moved to that domain.
14 December 2011: Prototype of the site created online at the following temporary address: http://zambia.markhyde.com/
12 December 2011: Work begins on a creating an online prototype of the site.
9 December 2011: Mike Bingham agrees that we should go ahead.
21 November 2011: Met Mike Bingham at SRGH and discussed possibility of a joint venture on a Zambian online flora.
