Description: |
Cremnophyte; stem solitary, pendulous, unbranched, up to 100 cm. long, 3-5 cm in diameter; leaves downward pointing, slightly to strongly falcate, 80-150 cm long, 9-12 cm wide, 10-20 cm thick, glaucous to dark green, unspotted, margins armed with reddish-brown uncinated teeth 1-2 mm long, 2-3 mm wide and spaced 10-20 mm apart; inflorescence pendent, 90-120 cm long, 3-5 branched from below middle; racemes arcuate-ascending, 25-45 cm long, cylindrical-acuminate, sub-densely flowered; pedicels 12-15 mm long; perianth cylindrical-trigonous, 28-32 mm long, 5-7 mm wide, bright red with yellow mouth; anthers exserted 1.5-2.5 mm at anthesis; seed capsules 20-22 mm long, 10 mm wide; seeds black, nearly wingless, 3 x 4 mm; exudate yellowish-orange, drying purplish-brown. |
