Description: |
Perennial herb with 1 to several erect to decumbent sparsely to densely hairy stems from a creeping, sometimes branched rhizome. Leaves ovate, elliptic to oblong, rarely lanceolate, 1.5-5 cm long, usually more or less densely hairy above, mainly on the veins beneath; petiole 1-5 mm long. Flowers in axillary secund (only 1 bract at each node supporting a flower) spike-like, 2(3)-flowered inflorescences. Calyx with linear lobes, 4-14 mm long, hairless or puberulous. Corolla white, sometimes with faint mauve markings on the lower lip. Capsule 9-13 mm long, pubescent in the upper half. |
