Description: |
Perennial herb with several erect to somewhat scrambling stems up to 60 cm long, growing from a woody rootstock. Leaves opposite, sessile, lanceolate to narrowly elliptic, 1.5-6 cm long, usually hairless, rarely velvety on the midrib and veins. Flowers in terminal spike-like inflorescences up to 11 cm long, often more laxly flowered below, more densely so towards the top. Calyx 4-7 mm long with pointed, lanceolate to narrowly triangular lobes. Corolla 8-12 mm long, white, with or without pink lines on the lower lip; upper lip 4-6 mm long; lower lip spreading or deflexed, 6-8 mm long. Capsule 9-11 mm long, finely velvety. |
