Perennial herb up to 110 cm tall from a tuberous subglobose root; stem annual, single, unbranched; leaves subsessile, lanceolate, 5-7 x 1.5 cm, margins entire, midrib keeled beneath with a fleshy ridge; cymes axillary, 1-2-forked; bracts free, slightly longer than cyathia; cyathia c. 4-6 x 3-4 mm; capsules c. 4.5-5 x 3.5-4 mm, deeply lobed. |
