Description: |
Softly wooded shrub up to 3 m high, sometimes with stilt roots. Leaves ovate or elliptic, largest 10-25 cm long, with sparse long appressed hairs above, hairy mainly on the veins and midrib beneath; petiole 1-5 cm long with long spreading hairs on the edges. Flowers in condensed head-like racemes on a winged peduncle 5-15 mm long. Bracts sometimes purplish. Calyx 9-14 mm long, densely pubescent in the apical half, sometimes with stalked glands. Corolla white with pink or purple lines in the throat, pubescent with broad glossy hairs in a dorsal band. Capsule 12-13 mm long. |
