Description:
Sparsely branched or scandent shrub with stems to c. 6 m long. Branches alternate, striate, glandular and pubescent with short-stalked T-shaped hairs. Leaves ovate-lanceolate, up to 13 cm long, thinly textured, often somewhat cordate in lower leaves or sometimes narrowly decurrent on petiole, sparsely hairy to scabridulous on both surfaces; margin finely serrate; petiole 1–3 cm. long. Capitula numerous, grouped in moderately dense clusters 3–6 cm across, borne in the upper leaf axils, or capitula in large terminal compound heads; capitula stalks mostly 1–10 mm long, sometimes to c. 40 mm long. Involucres to c. 6 x 6 mm., spreading to c. 10 mm wide; phyllaries few-seriate, outer linear-lanceolate, 2–4 mm long, inner narrowly oblong-elliptic, up to 6 mm long, sometimes with a hyaline margin. Florets 15–20 per capitulum, narrowly funnel-shaped, c. 6 mm long, pale-mauve to whitish, sweetly-scented. Achenes narrowly subcylindric, 2.5–3 mm long, tapering slightly to base, sharply narrowly 5-ribbed, glandular, pale-brownish; outer pappus fringe-like, of narrow minute lacerate scales, inner of white barbellate setae 5–6 mm long.

Habitat: At margins of (sub)montane evergreen forest.
