Description:

A stout tufted perennial herb 45-100(150) cm. tall from a woody rootstock. Stems annual, 1-several, erect, unbranched below synflorescence. Leaves coriaceous (leathery) sessile, up to c. 14 x5 cm., pubescent to tomentose or glabrescent, not scabrid. Leaf venation prominently reticulate on lower surface. Capitula 1-12, solitary and terminal on the stem and branches. |
