Description: |
Suffrutex with woody rootstock and numerous spreading or ascending stems up to 75 cm; plants glabrous but puberulent on youngest parts; leaves simple, estipulate, subsessile, 2.5-5.5 x 1.2-3.5 cm, ovate elliptic to elliptic or elliptic oblong, blunt to rounded at apex, shortly cordate at base; racemes terminal or sometimes axillary, bracts linear to linear lanceolate, bracteoles filiform; calyx 1.2-1.7 cm long, upper and lateral lobes narrowly attenuate-triangular, more than twice as long as tube; standard subcircular, pink to mauve or purplish with darker lines; wings oblong-obovate, exceeding the keel; keel 1.4-1.6 cm long and strongly rounded about the middle but with a short somewhat projecting pointed beak; pod subsessile, 3-3.5 cm long, oblong-clavate to subsylindrical. |
