Description:	Perennial herb, subshrub, shrub or very rarely a small tree. Leaflet elliptic to oblong-lanceolate, sometimes glaucous; base cuneate, rounded or weakly cordate; petiole winged, oblong to obcordate, sometimes nearly as large as the leaflet. Inflorescence usually elongated with flowers arranged in fascicles along the rhachis. Flowers white or yellow, usually with bluish-purple wings and keel. Fruit densely brown-hairy with 1-5 strongly flattened articles.
Type location:	Zambia, L.Tanganyika, Fwambo
Notes:	No less than 7 varieties have been described and the taxonomy within this group is not yet considered satisfactory. All of these varieties have been recorded from Zambia but many are difficult to distinguish, particularly in the absence of flowers.
