Description: |
Erect perennial herb up to about 1 m. high with yellowish-pubescent stems and inflorescences. Leaves mostly arising from the base of the stem, often persisting after the inflorescences have died, lamina palmately lobed, usually nearly to the base, segments acute, pubescent especially on the nerves; petioles of the lower leaves up to 15 cm. or more long. Flowers 2–2.5 cm across. Sepals usually deep blue, more rarely violet, pinkish or white, pubescent; spur 0.5–0.8 cm long, stout, almost straight. Follicles 3, shortly and densely pubescent. |
