Description:
Erect annual herb, up to 1.3 m. Stems slender, ribbed along their length. Lower leaves obovate, with crenate-dentate margins. Leaves higher up the stem narrowly oblong, sessile. Inflorescence a terminal panicle of minute subspherical capitula. Flowers yellow.

Derivation of specific name: resedifolia: leaves like that of a Reseda (i.e. pinnatifid); microcephala: with very small heads
Habitat: In damp places along rivers, particularly in hot, low-altitude areas.
