Description:

Perennial herb, one to several stems from a creeping woody rootstock; stems to 60 cm long, slightly to densely hairy.
Leaves narrowly ovate to narrowly elliptic, up to 5.5–10 x 1.5–3 cm, sparsely to densely hairy, mostly on the veins, apex tapering to a point to rounded, base prolonged down the axis; petiole ill defined to 5 mm long.
Flowers in a terminal raceme, opposite; corolla 1.2-2.2 cm long, white to pale mauve, pale pink or purple with purple markings in the throught or upper lip, sparsely set with capitate glands and hairs; calyx 0.5-0.8 cm long, with capitate glands, usually also with long soft hairs. |
