Description:
Climbing shrub. Stems appressed-pubescent. Leaves: petiole up to 2.5 cm long, lamina elliptic, less than 8.5 cm long. Flowers in 1-3-flowered cymes, borne at the ends of the branches. Sepals silky-pubescent. Corolla up to 2.3 cm long, bright blue, funnel-shaped. Stigmas ellipsoid.

Derivation of specific name: spectabilis: noteworthy, spectacular.
Habitat: Deciduous woodland and thicket, Kalahari Sand and roadsides.
Altitude range: 825 - 1200 m

Worldwide distribution: DRC south to Zimbabwe, and Madagascar.
