Description:
Robust climber. Stems quadrangular, developing corky wings when older (photo right); tendrils simple. Leaves simple, broadly ovate to almost circular, up to c. 13 × 13 cm, mostly hairless, apiculate at the apex; cordate at the base; margin obscurely dentate; petiole up to c. 11 cm long. Flowers in terminal and axillary, branched inflorescences, small, yellowish green. Fruit ellipsoid, c. 8 mm in diameter, hairless.
