Description:
Scandent shrub or small tree, up to 4.5 m high, sometimes a true liane. Young branchlets grey-green to purplish, finely pubescent; older stems very rough, revealing bright orange underbark when scratched. Leaves opposite, oblong or elliptic, glossy green, hairless; margins entire or shallowly glandular-toothed. Flowers in axillary clusters, yellow-green. Fruit 1-3 paddle-shaped carpels, green to pale brown smooth. Seeds winged.
