Description: |
Perennial herb with annual unbranched stems up to 30 cm high growing from a strong woody rootstock. Leaves alternate, subsessile, linear-lanceolate to obovate, up to 8 cm long and up to 1.5 cm wide, hairless. Flowers in c. 5-branched umbels with primary rays up to 7 cm long, forking up to 3 times. Bracts sessile, deltoid to almost round, 1.5-2.5 cm long, longer below the umbels. Cyathia sessile, c. 3.5 × 55. mm, with broadly cup-shaped involucres; glands 4-6, spreading, round to transversely oblong, 1.5-3 mm broad, yellow. Capsule exserted on a pedicel up to 6 mm long, shallowly 3-lobed, c. 5 × 6.5 mm, densely and strongly verrucose, tinged reddish. |
