Description: |
Much-branched shrub or small tree. Bark yellowish-grey smooth wen young, somewhat rough when older. Leaves alternate, elliptic-ovate, usually c. 3 × 1.5 cm, sometimes larger, dull green to yellowish-green, thinly textured, sparsely hairy and somewhat rough on both surfaces; margin with irregular glandular teeth. Flowers in small axillary branched heads, very small, pale yellow, bisexual on different trees. Fruit 1-2-lobed, c. 5 × 10 mm, splitting to leave the seeds attached to the branch. Seeds covered in an orange-red aril, resembling a berry. |
