Description:
Rounded parasitic shrub up to 1.5 m, often pendulous when older. Branches compressed or terete, densely covered with short spreading hairs. Leaves mostly opposite or subopposite, grey-green to markedly blue-green, slightly fleshy, very variable in shape and size, from linear-lanceolate to broadly elliptic, glabrous. Inflorescences 8–24-flowered. Corolla c. 4 cm, yellow to yellow-green, banded yellow or orange on lobes, pubescent with longer spreading hairs on the tube above the basal swelling. Lobes erect, 5–8 mm. Stamen filaments red, inflexed. Berry red, obovoid, pubescent.

Notes: It has been recorded from a wide variety of hosts, often epiparasitic on other species of Loranthaceae.This species can be distinguished by the short spreading hairs on the branchlets, blue-green leaves, the sparsely hairy corolla with longer hairs on the tube, and the corolla lobes with slight or no keels.
Derivation of specific name:
Habitat: A species of various types of deciduous woodland and wooded grassland. Also along forest edges.
