Description: |
Parasitic shrub up to c. 1 m with densely lenticellate branches, all parts hairless. Leaves usually alternate, elliptic-oblong or sometimes slightly obovate, 4-13 cm long, thickly leathery, grey-green, the few main veins all ascending; petiole 5-20 mm long. Flowers in subsessile 1-6-flowered umbels (mostly 2-3-flowered); pedicels up to 2 mm long, set in saucer-shaped sockets. Corolla 3.5-5 cm long, reddish with yellow lobes and dark red tips; basal swelling ellipsoid to ovoid-globose, 5-6 mm long. Fruit an oblong-obovoid berry, 10 mm long, red when ripe, verrucose. |
