Description: |
Medium to large evergreen tree; branchlets green and hairless, older branches dark brown. Leaves elliptic-lanceolate to broadly elliptic, mostly up to 13 cm long, rarely up to 20 cm long, glossy-green above, paler green beneath, almost hairless on both surfaces or with a few hairs near the base, midrib prominent beneath often reddish near the base, leaf base decurrent or sometimes with a very short petiole. Flowers in terminal spikes, up to 14 cm long; perianth pale yellow-green, 1 cm long, conspicuously curved upwards, pubescent outside with whitish appressed hairs. |

Notes: | Faurea delevoyi can be confused with F. saligna but differs by its sessile or subsessile, glossy, non-glaucous, bright green leaves which almost always bear a few long weak hairs towards the base on the lower surface. |
