Description: |
Perennial up to 68 cm tall, with swollen stem base and thick scale-covered stolons. Culm 3-angled, with short white hairs below in florescence, almost glabrous near the base. Leaves up to 44 cm long; leaf-sheath straw coloured above, purplish-brown below, densely set with white hairs. Inflorescence a simple anthela, primary branches 4-6, spikelets in loose spikes, rhachis of spike densely set with white hairs, sessile and on ends of primary branches. Easily recognised by the white-hairy leaf sheaths. |
