Description: |
Tufted perennial, 8-60 cm tall, with a bulbous or tuberous culm-base covered with fibrous old leaf-bases. Culms 3-angled (trigonous), the sides sometimes grooved (triquetrous), glabrous. Inflorescence capitate, hemispherical or irregular, white or cream; spikelets many per head, glumes white. |
