Description: |
Plants medium-sized, up to 50 cm high; inflorescence simple, sometimes almost capitate; glumes 1.6-2.8 mm long, golden-yellow to golden-brown; nutlet 0.7-1.1 mm long, transversely wrinkled. |

Notes: | Zimbabwean records of Pycreus flavescens have been placed under subsp. flavescens and rehmannianus. The subspecies of the Zambian plants is not known but we have provisionally also placed them under subsp. flavescens. Subsp. tanäensis occurs in Zambia per FTEA. |
