Slender perennial herb, 10-40 cm tall. Stem base bulbous, with the dark brown or purple remnants of leaf-sheaths. Involucral bracts few, up to 6 cm long. Inflorescence white or cream, globose, 5-8 mm in diameter; spikelets densely spirally imbricate. Apex of glumes acute. |
