Description: |
Vigorous tufted annual. Culms 60–160 cm. high, (1.7)2–3.2 mm. in diam. Spikelets 3–4.5(5) mm. long, dark olive green, rarely green to straw-coloured, shortly hairy or rarely glabrous. Inferior glume 0.5–1(1.2) mm. long, separated from the superior by an internode 0.1–0.5 mm. long. Superior glume and inferior lemma membranous to subcoriaceous, not drawn out into a narrow beak. |
