Lianes bearing aerial or clinging adventitious roots. Leaves present (in ours), fleshy. Inflorescences axillary or terminal, few-many-flowered. Flowers large, white, yellow or green, often marked with purple or yellow on the lip. Sepals and petals similar, free. Lip usually larger than the sepals and petals, adnate to the column and forming a funnel. Worldwide: 100 species in tropical and warm regions Zambia: 1 taxon. |
