Description of the genus

Small prostrate herbs. Leaves petiolate, entire. Flowers solitary on axillary peduncles. Sepals broad, ovate, accrescent. Corolla funnel-shaped, 5-lobed. Stamens included. Ovary deeply 4-lobed, hairy. Styles 2, inserted between the lobes of the ovary. Capsule 4-lobed, each lobe with 1 seed.

Worldwide: 3 species in Africa
