Deciduous trees, rarely shrubs. Leaves simple, undivided or 3–5-lobed, long-petiolate. Inflorescence corymbose, consisting of ebracteate cymes, mainly in upper leaf axils. Flowers small, numerous; perianth segments in one 4–8-merous imbricate whorl, equal or unequal with 2 segments. Fruit a globose, ovoid or ellipsoid drupe with 2 long apical wings; cotyledons spirally twisted. Worldwide: 3 species in tropical and warm regions. Zambia: 1 cultivated taxon. |
