Description:
Much-branched small shrub, usually less than 2 m high, rarely taller. Branches erect, densely leafy towards the top, scarred below with old leaf bases. Leaves sessile, spreading, linear, up to 1.5 cm long, dark green above, silvery-white hairy beneath; margin rolled under. Capitula 3-5 mm wide, in small dense terminal heads, up to 2 cm wide; phyllaries 5-seriate, linear-ovate, 1.5-5 mm long, silvery-green with a brown apex. Florets 20-30, golden yellow.

Habitat: At margins of montane forest, secondary growth and montane scrubland, on banks of rivers and dams.
Altitude range: 1800 - 2400 m

Worldwide distribution: DRC, Burundi, Tanzania, Malawi and Zambia.
