Description:
Terrestrial herb with separate sterile and fertile shoot; sterile shoot leaves erect, c. 8 x 1 cm; fertile shoot leaves cauline, 3-6 cm; inflorescence dense, floral bracts overtopping flowers; flowers small, white to pale mauve with maroon or purple mottling.

Habitat: Marshy montane grassland and wet dambo.
