Description:
Evergreen tree mostly up to 12 m high, sometimes forming thickets as shrubs less than 1.6 m tall. Leaves 6-12 cm long with 20−45 pairs of small leaflets, inserted up to 5 mm apart along the rhachis, narrowly oblong-falcate, 5-20 mm long, middle pairs longest; midveins eccentric. Stipules linear, up to 15 mm long, pubescent, persistent. Inflorescences of terminal and/or axillary heads up to 5 cm long, densely rusty hairy. Pods 4-13 cm long, round or bluntly pointed at the apex.

Notes:
Derivation of specific name: taxifolia: with leaves like a Taxus.
Habitat: Miombo woodland, thicket.
Altitude range: 1000 - 1800 m
Flowering time:Sep - Oct
