Description:
Large creeper, with radiating stems up to 6 m long. Leaves: petiole 3-8 cm long; lobes 6-12 cm long, separated up to one third of the way from the apex to the attachment of the petiole. Petals yellow, fading pink, crinkled. Ovary hairy. Seeds flattened.

Derivation of specific name: fassoglense: of Fazoghli, a place in Sudan, where the type specimen was collected

Worldwide distribution: Sudan and Ethiopia south through East Africa to Angola and South Africa.
