Leaves sessile or if shortly petiolate then base of lamina cordate and amplexicaul.

Notes: Herbivore:A larval food plant of the dotted border butterflies, Mylothris spp. (Pieridae).

Habitat: Common in urban environments where it infests both indigenous and exotic species: Bauhinia petersiana, Citrus, Dichrostachys cinerea, Ficus carica, Hibiscus rosa-sinensis, Moringa, Morus, Pseudolachnostylis, Punica, Toona, Zanha africana

Worldwide distribution: Zambia, Angola, southern DRC, southern Tanzania, Malawi, Mozambique and northern Zimbabwe.
