Description:	Terrestrial herb; tubers usually 2, ovoid, 1.5-2 cm long; basal leaves 2, grey green, 4-15 x 1.5-5 cm, elliptic, acute; peduncle leaves 1-2, sheathing; peduncle glabrous to sparsely hairy; inflorescence 4-24 cm densely few to many flowered,  secund, bracts 6-7 mm long, lanceolate, acute, ovary and pedicel 7-10 mm long, glabrous to sparsely hairy; flowers white to pale/deep pink with purple spots on lip; dorsal sepal 3-5 x 2-3 mm, ovate, convex; lateral sepals 4-9 x 2.5-6 mm, spreading, obliquely ovate; petals 3-5 x 1.5-2.5 mm, adnate to column at base and forming a hood with the dorsal sepal; lip 5-10 mm long, 5 lobed in basal half; spur 3-11 mm long, slender, tapering,  straight.

Habitat:	High rainfall Brachystegia woodland amongst damp grass near streams and seepage areas and occasionally in ervergreen forest

Worldwide distribution:	From Angola through DRC to Tanzania south through Zambia and Malawi to Zimbabwe.
