Description:
Trailing perennial grass often with aerial roots at the nodes. Culms 30–100 cm. Leaves lanceolate. Inflorescence a lax raceme along a central axis. Spikelets in pairs or small clusters, lanceolate, 6-8 mm. Inferior glume 1/3–2/3 length of spikelet, acute to acuminate. Superior glume and inferior lemma armed with stiff bristles based in yellowish tubercles. Superior lemma cartilaginous.
